The 1995-1996 NHL Season for the Colorado Avalanche was one of the most memorable seasons in franchise history. It was the organization’s first season in Colorado and being loaded with young superstars Peter Forsberg, Joe Sakic, Adam Foote, and later on Patrick Roy the team won a Stanley Cup in its first season in Colorado. Peter Forsberg played a crucial role in the title run as he would go on to score 116 points in the regular season (30 goals, 86 assists) as well as 21 more points in the playoffs (10 goals, 11 assists). The season was particularly memorable for Forsberg not just because it was his first Stanley Cup title but also his highest scoring season of his career.
