Joe Sakic is arguably the best player ever to put on a Colorado Avalanche uniform, so it is no surprise to see him continue to be honored among the franchise greats. When hosting the NHL Stadium Series in 2016, Sakic was an easy choice to be included on the Avalanche roster for the Alumni Game against the rival Detroit Red Wings. In front of the outdoor crowd of 43,319, it was business as usual for the all-time Avalanche points leader, as he scored one goal with one assist. The former captain’s efforts helped lead to a 5-2 Avalanche victory to send Colorado fans on a live trip down memory lane.
